Google Reviews Can Really Help Title Companies?

When someone googles your title company, what do they see?

In fact, when’s the last time you googled your title company?

Do you have any idea what people are saying about your company or what kind of digital footprint your company is leaving?

People trust Google.

Today more than ever, consumers are turning to Google as a trusted source of what is true. In fact, when a realtor refers a consumer to a title company, that new consumer will most likely google your title company.

Years ago, I didn’t think Google reviews were important for title companies … I was so wrong.

I didn’t realize that the question isn’t just what do you see when you google your title company but more important … when the consumer googles you, what will they see?

What reviews will they find?

Do you even know what’s out there?

A guaranteed way to increase traffic to your company’s site and get your name out there to anyone searching for title companies in your area is to have a strong Google presence.

My co-founder Paul Stine has worked with a lot of title companies and he says it’s important that companies ask for reviews for each of their locations.

This is big for 2 reasons:

  1. We live in a “Google it first” culture, where people trust Google more than referrals.
  2. This allows companies with a lot of Google reviews (even small companies) to be ranked highly in organic Google search results.

Paul points to CloseSimple client Network Title in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota as a great example of a smaller company that still comes up at the top of organic search results for “title company in Vadnais Heights” because they have so many Google reviews.

Check out some of their reviews that we grabbed right from a google search:

Here’s 3 things you can do right now to get strong Google reviews:

  1. Get a Google reviews page
  2. Ask for reviews
  3. Show your new clients your Google reviews page at the start

Get a Google Reviews Page

Go to google.com/business to set up your company’s Google page (you can make a different page for each of your locations). This is where you set up a Google reviews page.

Now you might be asking, but what if someone wants to leave a bad review? I don’t want to have that on my Google page.

Think of it like this: if a person wants to leave a negative review of your company, they will find a way to do it, find a platform to voice their opinion somewhere.

Isn’t it better for you to know where the reviews will be so you can see them and address any bad reviews that might be out there?

And you’re already doing amazing. One bad review compared to 99 good or great reviews will not hurt your business. I can’t stress this enough: get a Google page. It increases your search-ability, establishes trust with consumers and realtors, and makes you look stronger online.

Ask for Reviews

At the end of each order, ask for reviews from your consumers and realtors. Once the closing happens, you can send a short email to your client asking for a review. CloseSimple makes it very easy with an automated email or text message that can ask for a review and direct them right to your Google reviews page for an easy 5-star rating.

Asking for a review is part of the last of 5 templated updates that CloseSimple prepares for you. If you want to check out our 5-most used email and text message templates, you can read our article here.

Show Your Google Reviews Page to New Clients

Instead of waiting until after the closing to ask for a review, why not start the closing process by showing your consumer all the great testimonials you already have by sharing a link to your Google reviews page in the welcome email. That way, they know what to expect to receive from your title company. This will also make them more inclined to leave their own review after the transaction because they are familiar with your review page, they feel like part of this family that has worked with your title company, and they want others to know about the great experience they had.

So, make sure to create your Google reviews page by signing up at google.com/business and to download our pdf on CloseSimple’s 5-most used email and text templates so we can help you improve your online presence.
